As a young professional, Fred Haley struggled. He feared getting in front of an audience, especially his bosses, or the public, which he sometimes had to do for his job. He thought that having a calm, even-toned voice would make him sound like an expert. It didn’t. He sounded too quiet, monotone, unpassionate and timid. He was boring.
When he answered questions, he never noticed himself saying “ah” and “um” – over and over.
Fred was timid. He hesitated to speak up at meetings. He was nervous around his bosses.
Fred was passed over for promotions. He knew he was more qualified. But upper management wanted someone who could represent them outside the office.
Today, Fred is a certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker for the John Maxwell program. He conducts public workshops, mentors business associates to improve their presentations and writes presentations for national celebrities. Fred has published several books on public speaking. He also has been a featured speaker at statewide meetings and a presenter at state and national conferences.
A member of Toastmasters since 1998, Fred has served as a club and district officer and has won speech contests on his way to earning two Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) awards, the highest individual award conferred by Toastmasters members.
An accomplished author and speaker, Fred Haley engages his audiences with his easygoing personality and warm smile.
